Emerald City Comicon 2015 Fancy Sketches Part 3

EVEN more ECCC 2015 Sketch-A-Matic Sketches. Most of these are from day 3.

This is part 3. Check out part 1 and part 2. In case you were wondering, Picard, Data and Wesley are Ravenclaw, Riker and Deanna are Gryffindor, Geordi and Crusher are Hufflepuff and the Romulans are Slytherin. Warf is a Muggle. I know, I was just as surprised as you are.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Sketch-A-Matic, here’s a bit of info about it:

INTRODUCING THE SKETCH-A-MATIC!

The idea is simple, but the technology behind it is VAST and COMPLICATED!

It works like this:

  • The willing participant presses the big, red, impressive button
  • The machine SPRING TO LIFE whirring and gyrating and buzzing
  • When it finishes processing your individual, one of a kind sketch topic, you will hear a distinctive DING!
  • 2 topic cards are spit out of the machine and placed on the sketch generation matrix
  • The user may then choose to ad a multiplier card that will irrevocably alter the sketch in heretofore unimaginable ways!
  • The machine’s operator (known as: The Artist) begins generating the one of a kind sketch using pencils and pens and paper like some horribly out of date 2D printer

COMMENTERS: Feel free to sort the cast of your favorite show into Hogwarts houses. I’ll save you the trouble and do Seinfeld. Jerry and Newman are Slytherin, George is Hufflepuff, Elaine is Ravenclaw and Kramer is Gryffindor.

  1. All right, I didn't want to be the first one in here with my Sherlock fangirling, but:
Sherlock is a Ravenclaw – the life of the mind, their house weakness tends to be thinking that feelings are irrelevant and shouldn't be happening
John is a Gryffindor – brave but reckless, always ready for a fight but only for a good cause
Mary is a Slytherin, but one of the ones who would have stood with the Gryffindors etc against the Death Eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts – she's ambitious and can turn off at least the outer appearance of emotion and morality at will, but in the end will do what's right and then come up with an elaborate explanation as to why that was the logical thing to do
Mycroft is also a Slytherin (also a Death Eater fighter ) – ambition is the key and Sherlock's never quite forgiven him for it
Molly and Lestrade are Hufflepuffs, because they're the ones who keep everything together and don't need time in the spotlight to be fulfilled, but will take it if it offers and do it right. Everyone admires the ones who get called brave and clever, but the ones you can't do without, who are brave and clever in a quiet way, are Hufflepuffs.
Possibly controversial opinion: Moriarty is a Gryffindor. His flaws are what happens when you've got courage to the point of recklessness and a sense of righteousness but are broken inside. He needs the spotlight – he's not ambitious, really, except when it would involve basking in attention – and he's utterly convinced that he's doing the right thing, except for him, right is judged by sociopathic self-involved standards. It's why he fixates on Sherlock, and Sherlock will never give him what he really wants – Sherlock is someone who should be like him but isn't, and he doesn't understand why and never will.

…so yeah, I did the thing.
