ME AND WIL MADE A NEW SHIRT HOLY CRAP I LOVE IT!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THE QUICK NEWS ITEMS BELOW:
FANCY SKETCHES: If you ordered a Fancy Sketch and haven’t received it, good news! It’s in the mail. All 120ish Fancy Sketches are out the door. The image above is adapted from one such sketch, in fact. The idea belongs to Fancy Bastard Ron M. I was so happy with how it turned out in the end I decided to digitally paint it and put it up for everyone to enjoy.
CRUISE FUNDRAISER: About 40/100 prints are sold and I only have until Dec 15th to meet my goal of selling all 100. If you’ve got $35 bucks to spare and wouldn’t mind a couple of nice pieces of artwork for your home, maybe help me out why not?
HOLIDAY SHIPPING: The cutoffs are coming up fast. Read more HERE.
AUSTIN, TX FANCY BASTARDS: Webcomics Rampage is THIS WEEKEND!
MORE INFO HERE. The guest list is stellar and it’s always a great deal of fun. Plus it’s free. C’mon! How can you argue with free fun surrounded by awkward webcomics creators?!
COMMENTERS: The Doctor travels through space and time and several dimensions to visit your favorite comic strip characters from childhood. Which one is it and why? Why happens when he gets there? I bet if he goes to Apartment 3G, he finds out the whole apartment is a living phantasm that traps people inside and feeds on their misery. I mean, he’s always going to places like that and Apartment 3G sucks a hundred dump trucks full of butts.
I love your Calvin and Hobbes- based strips.
He should visit Scrooge McDuck from Duckburg. This is not a clear sign of donaldism derived from being Scandinavian.
In Peanuts the Doctor discovers that Snoopy is a highly intelligent creature from another world who has lived an incredibly long time on Earth. After having retired from his civilization's Imperial Guard. Now he's just enjoying the life of a pampered pooch.
Being British this already happened for me when The Doctor (10th) turned up on Bash Street and saved the kids from Daleks in The Beano.
Admittedly nearly 20 years after I stopped reading it though.
This. This on a t-shirt.
Just got internet in my new place, so I'm going through a week's worth of comics andOHMYGODILOVETHIS! Yes, on a shirt, please.
Check out Hobbes and Bacon, you can find it by googling just that – it made me all kinds of happy/sad. They should have made a million of them and syndicated them in a national newspaper.
The Doctor also made an appearance in Marvel comics back when Marvel UK was still running. He had a mid-space collision with Deaths Head and ended up engaged in a duel to the death. Needless to say he survived by his wits, a sonic screwdriver, and cheating.
Maybe The Doctor can figure out the temporal anomaly that allows the cavemen of B.C. to celebrate Christmas and Easter (I think they've even done a Thanksgiving or two).
Of course, there are many Time Lords in the classic dead-tree funny papers. Mary Worth must be at least 150 years old in her current regeneration.
And who's to say that the REAL appearance of the living creatures inside the Daleks isn't like Dilbert? He IS the right shape.
Okay, not from my childhood per se, but I'm totally picturing a "Vincent and the Doctor" kinda situation when the Doctor visits the apartment of Jon Arbuckle, the delightfully neurotic imaginary-pet-owner of "Garfield Minus Garfield" fame…
Mary Worth-The Doctor discovers that Mary is some sort of soul sucking creature like a spider. Once she has a person cornered she doesn't let them go until she has devoured them completely.
I think it would just end up being a 43 1/2 panel comic of this conversation:
Dr: The far side of what?
Me: No, it's just the Far Side.
I have a feeling the Doctor and Jason Fox would make a pretty good duo.
I have got to find if they made any Doctor Who jokes in Foxtrot. I haven't seen them since they went Sunday only.
For "Mark Trail" it would have to be the Eleventh Doctor because I could see him get excited over the giant animals.
This may be cheating, 'cause it's implied by the picture, but….Calvin and Hobbes.
Calvin is clearly at least part time-lord, what with the inventing time machines, Transmorgrifiers, and other such things out of cardboard boxes and other odds and ends, and Hobbes is some sort of half breed Weeping Angel that has control over his Quantum Locking.
The Doctor travels to Family Circus and works out why the jokes are so shit.

Or not, you know. I could just keep my money I guess.
I don't think a webcomic has ever made me as happy as this. Thank you Joel. This is my favorite Hijinks Ensue ever!
Thanks! That's very kind of you.
Did you ever sharksplode this?
I didn't the print ended up not being as popular as I had hoped.
Definitely a new style for the comic looks good, reminds me of one of the artists I met at FanExpo in Toronto this year.
