It felt really good to draw some robots today. I mean, I do enjoy drawing my HijiNKS ENSUE characters, but none of them really have tank treads for legs. Wait… yeah, none of them do. Not yet. I think it’s comforting to know that 10,000 years after The Machine War, when humanity isn’t even a memory, people (artificial or otherwise) will still be arguing about dumb shit.
Special thanks to Sharksploder @donaltdelay for inspiring the “abacus” line over twitter.
Wednesday June 3 was my birthday and, as tradition demands, my “birthday” encompasses the week before and two weeks after the actual date of my birth. Who am I to buck tradition? A guy with a 3 week and one day long birthday, that’s who! If you would like to make me VERY happy, and you aren’t interested in things like becoming a Patron, donations or Amazon wishlists, how about you SHARE THE FUCK out of this comic (or any of the other comics)? Pretty please? Let’s get some more Sharksploders in these comic infested waters.
SHARKSPLODERS: Which other designers of products, systems and websites belong in SUPER HELL? How about the guy that invented the phone tree at your internet service provider?
LOL, Joel’s been reading my mind again!
The person who designed self checkout systems.
“Please place the item in the bag.”
“Please remove the unscanned item from the bag.”
“Please replace the item in the bag.”
REPEAT AD INFINITUM HARRRGGHHAGHAHJKHGKDHKASBGHDH
Now, I’m not prejudiced against robots without treads, but robots with treads are clearly the superior race of robots.
It’s not a stereotype if it’s just true.
Of course robots with anti-grav or rocket boosters are the real superior race.
I’m still trying to figure out just how subtle of a dig your alt text is at creationists. I mean, a hex nut only has a hex-shaped head… so it wouldn’t really fit in a hex-shaped hole. Was that the joke you were going for?
I don’t think anything about this comic was all that subtle.
Wouldn’t a creationist robot be right?
Kind of what I’m thinking too… a liiiiitle bit backwards this comic is.
I love the expressions on Jerry’s face, and the fact that he’s a robot named Jerry. Also, PYGMIES + DWARFS is probably relevant here…
Anyway, I’m really digging the new comic so far – thanks for making the funny and happy birthday!
Thank you!
It’s ironic because they’re robots, so they really WERE intelligently designed…and yet he still gets the argument wrong!
I’m loving the fact that creationists are going to enjoy strip, because Jerry might be a jerk, but ultimately… Jerry’s right.
It’s less about being right in the context of history and more about having a week argument/ spewing clickbait headline-style psedo-facts to make a point. Plus, I never said this was earth.
Oh, now That’s a good point.
That robot with the tank caterpillars for legs didn’t ask for this.
Jerry: “Well if we call came from calculators, why are there still calculators?”
Calculator: “Come on, man! I’m right here!”
