I’m heading out this morning to talk to a local high school art class about making comics. I think it’s part of the D.A.R.E. program. Drawing dicks Always Rapes Eyeballs or some such. Please enjoy this Fancy Photo-Comic featuring David WillisDanielle Corsetto and introducing Randy Milholland as the ghost of Alan Moore.

Very special thanks to Super Webcomics Fan Jose Villalobos for taking a few of the pics that appear in today’s comic and posting them to Facebook.

I did a webcomics panel at C2E2 with Rob DenbleykerKris WilsonRyan Sohmer and the aforementioned Ms. Corsetto which, according to audience feedback, was the greatest panel in the history of con-dom [not condoms, though I’m am sure some nerds were knocking boots afterwards]. The audio of that panel will be posted [hopefully Friday] as the next episode of The HijiNKS ENSUE Podcast. I suggest you go ahead and subscribe via RSS or iTunes so you don’t miss it. I will tease you with two words: Yeti Murphy.

COMMENTERS: Any con stories you want to share? Any con HORROR stories you want to share? Did you wait in line for 12 hours to meet Stan Lee, get nervous and throw up on him? Did he throw up on you? Was that even at a con?

Here are some more nice pieces of paper which were ruined by me at C2E2 2011. I hope you enjoy them.

COMMENTERS: It’s up to you this time. I’m still recovering from the trip and am not yet of sound enough mind to… with… stuff. Exactly. So feel free to talk about the convention, or other stuff, or ham. Ham is always good.

I had an amazing time in Chicago. Special thanks to my boothmates Randy, David and Danielle. By our powers combined, we were… able to afford the booth. And have fun. And sell things to people. Some of whom were in costume. It was good times. Chicago welcomed us into its hefty, meaty bosom and bathed us in the deepest of dished pizzas and the greenest of beers (it was St. Patty’s Day weekend, which is apparently Chicago’s Christmas). Despite these kindnesses, it also offered us this cruel joke of an abominable bastardized hot dog. Where was the chili? The shredded cheese? Has the city no sense? It was like a wet salad was gunned down Robocop style near a hot dog that wasn’t finished being made. I will let it slide this time, Chicago, but I expect you to correct this error in hotdoggery before I return in 12 months time.

I was very pleased to get to spend so much time with my friends from Least I Could Do and Cyanide and Happiness during this trip. Along with Danielle, we all participated in the single greatest panel I have ever been a part of. It was a solid hour of laughs and good times. The audio will be posted as the nest HijiNKS ENSUE Podcast for those that are interested in receiving enjoyment through the ears.

I hope you enjoy these book sketches in place of a comic. There will be more of them tomorrow.

I bid one dollar, Bob.

All of this and more could be yours, if… the price is right.

This comic is basically factual except that it hasn’t happened yet… or maybe it’s happening right now. I’m not sure, but I’m probably foretelling the future (or at least the present).

Josh is in Chicago this week for Bear Pride. You see, once a year Josh’s people instinctively return to their ancestral homeland of Chicago. Once gathered they begin an ancient ceremonial mating ritual consisting of bar crawls, dancing and alcohol. I suppose there is also plumage involved. At some point he’ll lay his clutch of eggs in the spawning ground, then return home never to see those he mated with again.

I am certain that I’m either talking about Chicago Gays, salmon or rain forest toads. It’s late and things are starting to blur together. Which one has a cloaca?

The unfamiliar face in the first panel is Josh’s friend Perkk (in the blue, not the bouncer in the pink). I told Josh I was doing this comic and asked who should be in it with him. He said it was Perkk‘s birthday, so they honors go to him.

Happy birthday, Perkk, from Josh.

The overall inspiration (and the image of Bob Barker emblazoned on human flesh) came from this Radar Online list of terrible tattoos (specifically this one).

If you want to see something else truly fascinating, I suggest you Google “gayest tattoo ever.” You can stop when you see the “MerMen.” It’s usually the first result. Breathtaking.

If you’re living it up in Chicago this week, I invite you to stalk seek out Josh and show him a good time (not that he needs any help).  In fact, see if you can do anything to lessen his good time. We need him back in as close to one piece as possible.
