Mine and Wil’s T-Shirt site, Sharksplode, is involved in the Reddit T-Shirt Exchange this year, and to get these started we’re launching a brand new shirt.

The Reddit “Reddshirt“… shirt!

In the last comic, I invented the concept of coffee waffles or “coffles.” Shut up forever if someone has already come up with that before, because I INVENTED IT. IN INVENTED IT WITH MY BRAIN!

My challenge to you is to come up with a real recipe for coffles and share it with the Fancy Bastards in the comments of this comic or on the FB Facebook group.

COMMENTERS: Have you ever created, or been treated to a dish with an unexpected SECRET INGREDIENT? A reader from Seattle sent me a chocolate bar with cayenne pepper. It seemed super wrong, but it was super duper right.

ANOTHER THING: On Joco Cruise Crazy 3, I led a panel called “The Quitting Panel: Keep Calm And Quit Your Job,” where a group of creatives from the worlds of animation, music, programming, cartooning, and game design told stories and answered audience questions about how they quit their day jobs to pursue their passion for a living.

I created a Youtube playlist of the uploaded videos uploaded by Sea Monkey Angela. The whole thing is an hour long and I think we threw out some good information about the realities of “living the dream.” This is a must watch for anyone interested in The Experiment.

So Much Ado, So Little Time

Wil Wheaton and I got excited and made this “Fighting Time Lords” shirt for you! No, really. Specifically FOR YOU.

[For the confusified…]

The man is a machine! And not the “rise up and destroy humanity” kind. He’s more the “I’m making the biggest super hero movie of all time, but I’ve got a weekend off so I guess I gather up all my geek actor friends and make a different movie” kind of machine. I’m not sure of which type I should be more afraid. I mean, as long as Joss Whedon has positive outlets in which to channel his remarkable drive and creativity, I think we’re more or less safe. But what if we have another writers’ strike or some kind of worldwide moratorium on filmed geekiness? What then? I’m talking doomsday devices, cyborg armies, skyscraper-sized monitors barking quipy dialog and cardigans… CARDIGANS FOR ALL! Can the humanity survive a ginger despot with endless supplies of both imagination and ambition? You know how he likes to kill off characters.

COMMENTERS: Whedon came up with the Buffy musical because he and the cast would sit around and play songs and have sing alongs. He made “Much Ado” because he would host impromptu Shakespeare readings at his home. What other “me and my buddies” hangin’ out activity do you think Joss should make a movie about next? Backyard BBQ with Neil Patrick Harris (OMGWTFBBQNPH)? Alternately, what other public domain work would you like to see Whedon adapt?

I had an amazing time in Chicago. Special thanks to my boothmates Randy, David and Danielle. By our powers combined, we were… able to afford the booth. And have fun. And sell things to people. Some of whom were in costume. It was good times. Chicago welcomed us into its hefty, meaty bosom and bathed us in the deepest of dished pizzas and the greenest of beers (it was St. Patty’s Day weekend, which is apparently Chicago’s Christmas). Despite these kindnesses, it also offered us this cruel joke of an abominable bastardized hot dog. Where was the chili? The shredded cheese? Has the city no sense? It was like a wet salad was gunned down Robocop style near a hot dog that wasn’t finished being made. I will let it slide this time, Chicago, but I expect you to correct this error in hotdoggery before I return in 12 months time.

I was very pleased to get to spend so much time with my friends from Least I Could Do and Cyanide and Happiness during this trip. Along with Danielle, we all participated in the single greatest panel I have ever been a part of. It was a solid hour of laughs and good times. The audio will be posted as the nest HijiNKS ENSUE Podcast for those that are interested in receiving enjoyment through the ears.

I hope you enjoy these book sketches in place of a comic. There will be more of them tomorrow.

COMMENTERS: It’s up to you this time. I’m still recovering from the trip and am not yet of sound enough mind to… with… stuff. Exactly. So feel free to talk about the convention, or other stuff, or ham. Ham is always good.

Angel Season 6 (comic) First 5 Pages!

Check them out on Ain’t it Cool.

Hot on the heels of Joss Whedon’s hugely popular “Buffy: Season Eight” series for Dark Horse Comics (consistently the publisher’s top-selling title since its launch last March) comes a Whedon-supervised “Angel: Season Six” funnybook series for IDW.

I’ve really been enjoying Buffy: Season 8. This preview of Angel: Season Six has made me very enthusiastic. No spoilers…OK, one. Angel is riding a dragon.
