Just under a month ago, HijiNKS ENSUE turned 7 years old. I held a Fancy Fan Art contest to celebrate and here are the winners!
FIRST PLACE goes to Troy Zimmerman for this Edward Gorey inspired version of me. Clearly this is my destiny. This is my inescapable fate. Troy wins a digital commission of any 1 or 2 HE characters of his choice, doing pretty much whatever (within reason).fan art, Fancy Fan Art Contest
Last Sunday, May 11th, HijiNKS ENSUE turned 7 years old! What does that even mean? Why am I still allowed to do this? In celebration, I am holding a Fancy Fan Art Contest just like last year. And, just like last year, the rules are the same: read more…Tags: anniversary, fan art, Fancy Fan Art Contest, news

ECCC is my absolute favorite convention of the year, and it is SHOCKINGLY close to happening nowish. David and I will be at booth #1412 right next to Cyanide & Happiness! I will have the leftover DDDT prints, other prints, books, shirts, Wil Wheaton plushies and sketches.conventions, emerald city comicon, news
It’s just like the monthly donation subscriptions I’ve always done with Paypal, but now you don’t HAVE to use Paypal, and I have a cool backend for managing rewards and such. It’s also got a bit of Kickstarter peppered in for good measure, in that there are rewards tiers for donations and milestone goals that unlock more comics, more content and more awesome along the way.
Don’t have time to read all of this? Watch the video I made explaining everything. It’s only 3.5 minutes and my adorable Kiddo steals the show.
Pledge at $3, $5, $10, $20, $50 or $100 a month and you will be supporting me being able to do what I love for a living: Making comics.crowd funding, donations, news, patreon, the experiment
SHORTEST VERSION: My daughter and I collaborated on a print! It’s signed by both of us and limited to 100 pieces. GO BUY IT NOW (and tell 99 of your friends)!
SHORT VERSION: Instead of selling a limited print to pay for a trip for my wife and I on JoCo Cruise Crazy, like I wanted to (and like I have for the past 2 years), I am NOW selling a limited print to pay off an unexpected tax bill from the IRS which cost ALMOST EXACTLY what the cruise was going to cost. THANKS, UNIVERSE! It was drawn by my six year old daughter and I, and I’m SUPER proud of it (mostly of the parts she did). read more…Tags: daddy daughter digital drawing time, ddddt, fund raising, news

Instead of making a Halloween themed comic this year (which I can’t since I’m in the middle of a decidedly non spooktacular storyline), my family and I have made you a Halloween Fancy Photo Comic of sorts. It’s called “Raven Cleans Up The Park” and you can see it over on my Tumblr.halloween, holiday, holidays, raven, teen titans, teen titans go, tiny titans
It also contains my method for dealing with a scratch on your Wacom Cintiq or other expensive, draw-right-on-me tablet PC type device. It also works for regular, non-monitor digital drawing tablets.
You can also watch the full stream of the Google Hangout I did with Jack Conte Of Pomplamoose and Patreon (a neat new way for content creators to get paid just to create content by the people that enjoy it) for Global Geekend/The Daily Elixir.
It was a great conversation about making it as a digital artist, and I’m a HUGE fan of Jack’s so I highly recommend listening to what he (and sometimes I) have to say. Pomplamoose had a huge effect on my original plan for The Experiment and I owe Jack a great deal for the inspiration that he provided when I was trying to figure out how to be professionally unemployed giving comics away for free.Tags: the experiment, video, Video Blog
