Color me a total dunce, but I've never much figured out the BrowserWars. It's all software that you can get for free, without a registration. Why should companies give a rat's ass which one I use? Do they get a secret royalty check from InterNIC for every IP I ping from whichever browser I'm swinging around at the moment?

[...] What I do understand is that a lot of applications don’t work in IE6. For book publicists, authors and others in the publishing industry, the list of programs that don’t work / don’t work well with IE6 include Facebook and Pitch Engine and TechCrunch reports that YouTube and Digg have also been making noises about dropping support for IE6. TJ Dietderich sent along this cartoon lampooning IE6.
Hmm. First Matrix, then Office Space. Make a third one and we'll have a proper Explorer-trilogy.

Much love for the red stapler there, your attention to detail always makes me happy.

My local library still uses IE6. I have my own laptop but I went in and showed them Youtube and told them they need to upgrade, especially as that's what most people in my neighbourhood who don't have computers use it for. I'm very thankful this has happened so they can be finally forced to upgrade it.

Hehe, good for Youtube.

For my own framework i also dropped support for IE6 ( and IE 7 ). Only valid html browsers from now on. People need to learn to upgrade! Its so sad, how much time developers need to keep placing in fixing IE 6 bugs, and other rendering problems, to make there site look good.

Now, IE8, thats a whole different mater, and way better ( and that gets supported ).

Not being able to upgrade IE6 is no excuse at all... You have Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome ... Plenty off browsers ( even Safari )...

I might have gone the "Of Mice And Men" route (IE 6 is obviously a Lenny), but I guess you already did that with thepiratebay.
