I think I have to find some way to incorporate "Sweet Calamari of Alpha Centauri!" into my vocabulary. How better to convey the emotion of 'surprised dismay'?
And yeah, Joel-Dark-Prophet-of-Doom from panel 2 is totally Teh Awesome.

Joel, this comic today is perfect! As soon as I read the good news, I burst in on my brother playing Fallout 3 and yelled the exact same thing Eli told "you" and there was much rejoicing and ripping on FOX, who will NOT have Futurama back, unlike the resurrected corpse of Family Guy.
Speaking of, is your opinion on Futurama's revitalization based on your experience with FG's tailspin in quality since they were raised from the dead? At first, I was overjoyed FG was back, but by season 6 it took a big drop and now I'm lucky if there's 1 ep that doesn't left-wing-soapbox-lecture me at the cost of BEING FUNNY!

I actually enjoyed the movies. Bender's Game was by far the best one. Even though they may not have been as awesome as the best of the series, they still provided a sufficient amount of entertainment.

so methinks there's no point in actually commenting on it, other than to say props to Ytoban for getting Hermes so spot-on!

my point was that I don't think Joel or FB Ytoabn were implying they wrote it to sound like Hermes, I think they were directly quoting the character and people were going on like it was something amazing they'd never heard before and hadn't linked it to Hermes.

No actually I asked everyone on twitter to make up original Hermes'isms and I would pick the best one for the comic. It was totally intentional.
