If you believe there will ever be a "finished" society on our planet, one that no longer needs to evolve, say in a few millenia, what do you think it will be like?
December 22nd, 2008 at 10:40 am
hey, long time listener here, first time..questioner. Bare with me.
Josh, on the last podcast you professed a love for Spongebob, so my question is this- Have you seen/do you like any of the other fucked up children's cartoons on TV as of late, like The Marvelous Adventures of Flapjack or chowder?
Has anyone here played Fallout 3? thoughts?
Are there any holiday traditions that baffle you or upset you in any way? i.e., does anyone else find the practice of bringing a tree into your living room once a year for Jesus hilarious? (I know the real reasons why, but still)

What are your thoughts on THE SPIRIT directed by Frank Miller? Is it going to be the flop everyone says it will be or will it be excellent in the same way that Sin City was awesome?

In keeping with the decapitation theme.

I would have gone to see it, but luckily I saw, or more importantly HEARD the trailer.

What are your T.V. hopes for the new year? (besides Heroes getting canceled)

It's all talking, and the dialog is as bad or worse than 20s radio plays. There is nothing whatsoever to indicate that there's a shred of decent story to it, and quite a lot to indicate the contrary. Also, you can see the tape holding on Samuel L Jackson's sideburns, literally. He's just trying to bring back the visual style of Sin City, and have it make up for EVERYTHING else. The dialog in the trailer is essentially what you'd get if you took the corniest lines out of every movie ever and coupled them together.

They could just kill Claire… and maybe half the cast… and I would be happy. Just sayin'.

The Spirit is a different beast entirely, as he's adapting it from a 60-year-old (yet still classic, despite the racism that went hand-in-hand with the times) comic strip, and is changing key aspects of the story to suit his bastardized, hyper-stylized vision. Sin City was based on his own material, which was/is fairly recent.

The FB, Tarmanydyn, has taken it upon himself to start sorting through the podcasts and pick out the "best of" moments, which parts do you think have been the best?
Also, overall which do you think has been the best episode? I've been trying to figure out which episode to recommend to friends.
December 23rd, 2008 at 11:19 am
Episode three times a thousand. Joel may think the LOLucaust was the filthiest segment, but I think it's far outclassed by the many stories of retard shits.

Listener form the first episode first time questioner,
speaking of highly geeky shows, like big bang theory last week, have you seen The IT Crowd? It has the great mix of geek and British humor, that I love, and is currently airing for winter break viewing. I don't know where to see it in Texas but I doubt it will be a problem with the contacts Josh has. link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_IT_Crowd
Secondly here is a great suggestion for a horribly crappy movie night, "Chandi Chowk To China", everything about this looks cringeworthy. Trailer link http://www.latinoreview.com/news/ok-what-the-f-is...

I just wanted to add for Josh that in the first episode of season 2 the group go to a production of "Gay! – A Gay Musical"

Frank Miller pisses on another classic and influe…
And NSFW!: Smurf Porn. It IS NOT animated. It IS live action. It IS as horrifying, if not more horrifying, than you think it is.
Quextion: Looking around at what's "hip" to wear these days, it's almost like current fashion is trying to be the eighties. What's the biggest/most annoying fashion accessory/element/style/etc. that you see today?

I was never impressed with the I.T. Crowd to be honest. I'd rather watch The Mighty Boosh.
Yes. I'd definitely recommend The Mighty Boosh to all – go check it out you transatlantic peeps (it's best if you start at season 1 of the TV show, but if you do bear with it the first 2 episodes are a little slow).

With the true genius that are porn spoofs (and having watched a scene from "Who's Nailin' Palin" recently)…
A: what's your favourite porn spoof (I'm looking at you Josh)
B: if you were to create a porn spoof, what would it be?
December 24th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Wrong. Simply wrong.
Blue paint can't even taste that nice either.
