Lets see…. Death of the joker (i mean the actor), wall-e, 3g iPhone, that sweet "gates vs. jobs" flash game, the fact that "death of josh" is a needed thing in the comic….

I'd just like to mention that the first Fancy Bastard D&D session went off fabulously this past Saturday. Big thanks to DM MikeBrady!
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Yes thanks to Mike indeed. Hopefully, Bill's Cleric will be playable next week though, as my Dragonborn Fighter was knocked unconscious 3 different times this session.

Ok, wait so we have something to talk about, explain this to me. Ive seen the thread on the forum but I stay out since Im not a DnD'er. How did you guys do this? Online? Is there an app or a chat room? Details and I will pimp your group on the POdcast.

As you may or may not know, DnD 4th Edition came out just a couple months ago. Wizards of the Coast has stated they're developing some online tools to facilitate online play; things like an online game board with creatable dungeons, a way to manage your characters, all sorts of stuff. But, they haven't said what the status of that tool is other than "it's coming." In the interim, us Fancy Bastards (some of us DnD veterans, some complete new comers) decided to take the 4E rules for a spin together.
We're using MapTool, part of a pen and paper RPG computer tool suite. ( http://rptools.net/ ) It's quite robust as far as these things go, and it's free. And while the tool itself isn't perfect, I find it hard to believe that Wizards will release anything that will trump it's functionality, other than the official DnD branding.
I don't want to speak for Mike, but our group isn't quite full yet, so if you want to join, surf to the Forums and find the threads and make your case. We don't care if you're a veteran or a totally new player. And if we fill up too quickly, there's lots of forums to choose from to find a game looking for players ( http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?t=1745 ).
I could go on and on about DnD or our specific play session, but I don't think there's that much interest to the casual observer. Regardless, feel free to contact me through the forums and I'll answer any questions I can.

If you could be a famous historical totalitarian dictator, which one would you be?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Maybe that should be if you had to be one, rather than if you could be one…
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Please don't turn this into another bad joke along the lines of from where Denise is from?

Thoughts on Doctor Horrible?
Thoughts on Batman?
Firefox 3 and how much their new 'update' didn't fix….
Which games are you guys looking forward to for the rest of '08? For me it's all about Fallout 3…
Has Eli purchased 'I Drink Your Blood' yet? If so, has he watched it? If so, he is now some form of demigod…
Does anyone actually think GoW2 will be a good game? Should I give up on games now that they've become generic, short, online-focused and dull?

Idea for a new shirt:
"I(Bold) touched her breast"
I want to support but need new/better shirts to buy.
And yes, I know I can support without the shirt, but I would like to be a walking advertisement also.

What are your thoughts on a pale light skinned hispanic man putting on brown face to play (or really just hang out and stuff) a darker skinned hispanic man?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
wait, what?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
A pale light skinned hispanic man (me) putting on brown face to act/be a darker skinned hispanic man. Do you think anyone would take offense?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
oh, ok I gotcha.

Question for the Eli, Josh, Denise, or other murder simulator designers who happen to be present: have you ever heard something about a game you're involved with second hand? To clarify, someone doing PR for your game says something about the game that's then released to press that you had no idea about.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I cant wait for the answer to this. I hear this shit ALL THE TIME.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
A question to go along with it then: Have you ever had to change something in a game because of negative press/fan reaction? A good example might be Battlefield: Bad Company switching to offering the unlockable weapons free of charge after the fanboy rioting.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
A further videogame question, do you guys get bent out of shape to the response to your games ala Denis Dyack or once it's released do you forget about it and move on to the next project?

Fans of a singer called Dr. Steel think that Dr. Horrible is a blatant rip-off,

so when is the ustream? I've checked the site like a million times and there isn't anything listed. I want to be a first time long time.

What is the most disturbing/shocking movie you have ever seen?
My pick is Cannibal Holocaust.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Can we replace Eli's soundboard with a slide whistle? Through oppression comes art!
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
You always talk about those great but cancelled shows you watched, but I don't think I ever heard any Bastard Love for Veronica Mars. Did you guys watch it, and if so, how do you think it would have ended post season 3? Ignoring that crappy FBI spinoff thing, of course.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
1) As far as Dr. Horrible is concerned, who would each of you be if you were in the film?
2) Rick Perry keynote speaker at E3?
3) Eli's Best of E3 pick
4) Joel's favorite web comics? (besides hijinksensue)
5) Comicon! anyone going?

If you were to join one religion that has its roots in fiction, which would it be and why?
(Examples: HP Lovecraft's "Esoteric Order of Dagon" and "the Purifiers" from the X-men comics.)

What format and where should we post submissions for Eli's soundboard?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Music question: Any thoughts about Girl Talk's "Feed the Animals" album? [I can hear the response now: "No." "What the eff? No." sfx: WRONG. "Next question." sfx: PE-PEW!
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Also Joel, plz bring back a little Col. Tigh voice action. BIIILL!
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
So the proper Sound effect would actually be "Big frakkin' deal!"

I'm just wondering if you think they should bring another actor in to play the Joker in the inevitable Batman sequels? If so who would you pick?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Well played, sir (or, more appropriately "Clever girl.").
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Much like JFK, I'd like you all to detail your workout regiments.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Oooh! Oooh! Favorite Mr. Show skit! Mine is when Bob and one of the other actors keep running into each other and having to say goodbye all over again. Or "The Joke, The Musical". Or The New and Improved San Francisco. Or Cockring Warehouse. Or "I spit on your apology!" "I piss on your spit!" "I shit on your piss!" "I fart on your shit!" "I laugh at your fart!" "We are friends again!"
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Eli: What's your view on GameCock media, EIEIO, and their burying E3 last year? (not to mention their interruption at video game awards during bioshock/game of year award)
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
The end.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I'm a few podcasts behind, but I just heard you say that you won't watch The Middleman. You will regret it. This show rocks! So much so that it is destined for cancelation. I actually paid money to see it on xbox live. Even my Husband that hates everything watches it.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Sorry, this one didnt make it in time. I've started to believe from the overwhelmingly positive feedback that I would love and that it WILL be canceled. Ill wait until the network is done with it.
