Thanks for the Kudos. I think we just naturally want to keep it short and sweet (if 2 hours is short).

  2. hijinksensu5337

Hah! There is rarely a time in actual life that we ARENT talking about Arrested D.

  3. hijinksensu5337

    Its never to late.

So apparently you two will not be reading my 250 page Cloverfeeld/Treebeard fan fic script that I plan to fedex for the next podcast. Drat!

  6. hijinksensu5337

    I might illustrate it, though.

  7. tindomiel30091

True, but it's getting to the point where I don't think anyone could pay me enough money for me to keep doing it. :p

Hey listen Joel, I'm sorry. I've thought about it some more, and those were some stupid things to say in the podcast.

Here's the deal. I've listened to every podcast, watched every YouTube video. So I feel like I know you guys pretty well. The problem was forgetting that you don't know anything about me. For all you know, I could be some sort of crazy stalker guy.
Obviously none of the podcasters need to answer a question about their personal lives that they don't want to reveal publicly. Even though they've revealed a bunch of things about their place of employment, that doesn't mean we have to know every personal detail of their lives. You've got a great group of friends, and it's always interesting to know more about them.

I also apologize for the other thing. I guess I'm kind of used to the very public way Kurtz acts in his podcasts. I think he would have reacted differently to it. Not your fault, obviously it's my fault for failing to realize that different people are going to react in different ways.

Anyway, had to get that off my chest because it was bothering me. Looking forward to finding out future ways that I can help repay you for all the comics and podcasts that you've given me.

aaw, hey dude, don't feel bad about it or nuthin'. it's humbling, flattering, and slightly petrifying that people out there are actually interested in my random shenanigans. we appreciate all of joel's readers and listeners, fancy bastards that you all are! :)

Is there any place you can download the Found Footage Festival video? I checked out the websites and couldn't find any links.

Dude, dont worry about it. I am putting myself out here for the world to observe. Its natural that you would feel like you've gotten to know me. You are absolutely right that its a mostly one sided ordeal. You can infer a LOT more about my personal life with the videos, podcasts, comics, etc that I can just from your comments or forum posts. Honestly, its all very flattering (if not a little hard to wrap my mind around). I appreciate your enthusiasm, and Im not mad. I was just stating that "this" is how much I am willing to share, and the rest i'll be keeping private until such a time as I decide to share it. From my perspective, I am used to being one person at my job, then being myself when i get home. Now my job IS being myself, so I have to be careful to keep the most personal things safe and sacred (ie my wife and child).

Your questions caught me a little off guard, and I probably reacted out of surprise. The reason I mentioned Kurtz's podcast (which Im glad you listened to so you can understand my point) is that I think he shares TOO MUCH (which he admits all the time) and it usually comes back to bite him in the ass. I listened to his podcasts for months before I met him in person. In my head I could have walked in and picked up like we were old friends. But in reality he didnt know me from Jeebus. It was odd because I had to hold back how familiar I actually felt. He told me a few stories in person that I had already heard on the podcasts, but how would he have known that?

I just want to illustrate that I know EXACLTY how you feel and its all cool. I will let you guys know when its too personal, but until then dont worry about censoring yourself.

I think Joel is a cool guy. eh draws comics and doesn't afraid of anything.

It's a 4chan/internet meme, don't worry about it. Anyway, I'm catching up on the podcasts I've been missing while (still) on vacation. This looks to be a juicy ep. I hope my pervasive questions from last week haven't left some sort of taint on your comic and/or its fanbase.

As all of the various podcasts thunder on toward the end, you occasionally seem as though you feel that they are getting too long. I just wanted to let you know that in my opinion, the longer the better. Don't worry about truncating anything just because you think that your listeners might think that the podcast is too long — I'd be happy with a 5 hour podcast myself. I tend to listen to "talking audio" just about all the time when I'm working and this podcast is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work.

  14. PlasteredLyric

Hey man, don't feel bad. Everybody knows that your intentions were admirable and you were just making a compliment.

Fact of the matter is, I feel bad for Joel. Right now, his community is small and respectful enough to behave themselves. I fear the day when his work acquires the massive audience it deserves and people will be making unabashedly offensive comments intentionally.

I recommend that Denise start affecting a low voice and go by "Dennis" to avoid the forthcoming barrage of "ZOMG A GAMER GURL HAWTTTTTTTTTTTTT"

  15. aaron6928

I would like to add too that the longer Podcasts don't bother me. Everyone is extremely interesting and it's rare that you all go off on a tangent that I feel drags on for too long. I also really appreciate that you take the time to answer all of the questions even if it's something you aren't that interested in.

I originally found them via a torrent site, but they sell the DVDs via their site (http://www.cine-magic.com/FFF/fff_dvd.htm)

Here's the creepy Arnold clip we talked about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdIjJ8efftk and here's the Cory Haim one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLRK-XP_GLE

I too have the problem of mistaking you for Jeebus. I also mistake Eli for Don Quixote, Josh for Elton John, and Denise for Margret Cho.

I do admit that watching you guys on Ustream feels very awkward. Too voyeuristic for me. Just don't put a camera in the bathroom. I don't want to know what Josh really does in there (fight dragons?).

fake moustache is in the works.

seeing all the stuff that everyone is spilling out now….

Thankyou so much for talking about AD. That had me talking to the computer, that was the best idea ever…

Ah, yes, few things so satisfying as banning a chronic troll. I'm jealous of Allison's job–for the last ten years I've joked that shepherding an online community has been like a second career. And nowdays, it actually is a legit job! Shoot, I should've tried to cash in on that.
