“Male Sack” Questions for Podcast #15
Post your questions for the next podcast.
Also, if you listened to Podcast #14, you know that there is a “90’s Alternative Rock” challenge thing that we are doing.

How to participate:
1) Listen to Podcast #14
2) Post on this thread your favorite 90’s alternative rock songs or bands
3) I will see if I know how to play them live on the podcast
4) if I don’t know the song, I will not be looking it up, or learning it ahead of time. This is about what I remember from 15 years of playing guitar.
Wadmaasi has already started the challenge with:
“Play me some Pumpkins or some Bush or get the fuck out! And make it electric.”
Oh, the Pumpkins and Bush I will play. You have no idea. I might just play all of “16 Stone” from beginning to end.
I’ve gotten some Podcast questions in email, and I going to add them to this thread so I don’t forget to answer them.

oh we are *totally* doing Shit Towne. I hath decreed.

On the subject of terribly awesome movies, Why hasn't Riki Oh been mentioned? It's terrible violence with random plot and plenty of memorable quotes… "Riki! Try harder now! You can defeat death!"

so it is written, so shall it be rocked.

What's the weirdest thing you have ever whacked off to? I have vivid memories of Blaze from Streets of Rage 2
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I know you're not asking me, but I once got dangerously close to whacking it to Ayla from Chrono Trigger. She wasn't my favorite female character at the time or anything, but some of the sprite animations she did were… uh oh… damnit, there go my nipples again.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I like you.

Weezer's new video has references to a bunch of internet memes. I notice Numa Numa, Diet Coke & Mentos, the Star Wars kid, Chris Crocker (leave Britney alone), All Your Base Are Belong To Us, Miss Teen Georgia or whatever (like, such as, the Iraq), Tay Zonday, Kevin Federline (Papazao), Peanut Butter Jelly Time (with Charlie the Unicorn in the background), and some other stuff I can't identify.
Is this cool or is this lame? It's one or the other, and I'm not sure which.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
In order to answer this, I will need you to request a Weezer song or songs to be plated for the Alt rock challenge.

Question – the two frontrunners for the lead in the Thor movie are Brad Pitt and WWE's Triple H. Which one makes the movie more successful? Which one makes it more true to the source material?
Alt Rock Challenge – On behalf of my wife, I have to ask for more of "Don't Look Back In Anger". My own request would be Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, but I fear for the future of the podcast. A million listeners might cry out, and suddenly silence their iTunes.

(ORIGINALLY EMAILED BY FLANKED)
Dear Original Fancy Bastards (Represent!),
Got some questions for y'all that maybe you could address in an upcoming podcast. Here goes.
1. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Who is watching it? Exactly how awesome do you think it is? If you haven't checked this show out, why do you hate America? Finally, will Fox end up 'Foxing' this show into oblivion (e.g. Firefly)?
2. By now I'm sure you, Joel, have seen some of the uStream stuff from Scott Kurtz and Mike Krahulik (PvP and Penny Arcade, respectively). Is there any chance you'll be implementing a similar feature for HE? I know this may be weird in your case since you seem to do most of the comics in the wee hours when lots of potential watchers are asleep. Still, what do you think?
3. Lost. I stopped watching somewhere in Season Two or Three, I can't remember now. Should I bite the bullet and go back? Keep in mind, I never watched the show live, that is, only on DVD or online, and I wasn't exactly caught up in the season ending cliffhangers. Still, the show has a death date and I want to know if I'll be missing out.
4. Economic Stimulus Checks. I'm getting mine soon according to the newspaper. Save or spend immediately on HDTV? You FBs have plans? Maybe I should get in touch with the Black Devil Doll guys as a financier for the inevitable space sequel.
5. Black Devil Doll. Speaking of BDD, any news on the movie? I'd like to see Joel involved with his voice acting skills in some role as a foil to BDD. But what could that role be?
That's all I got. Again, awesome podcast, loltastic comic.
Yours,
Flanked

For the group, for those of you that have seen Indy 4 what is your impression of the film? Did it be what you thought it would? Did you enjoy it? Was it a complete failure? Is it a good idea in the least bit to do an Indy 5?
Also for the group, now having seen Undefeatable I've been inspired to start my own shitty movie collection. So far the only one I've found that even comes close to Undefeatable is a dollar bin gem by the name of City Dragon:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367608/
I was wanting to know if you had any recommendations for shitty movies I should seek out.
Finally for the group, if the comic ever really takes off and reaches something of Penny Arcade fame, how do you feel you will handle the fame? Is it something you would embrace or would you have hesitations about being so well known?
If you can play anything by Radiohead for the 90's Alternative Rock Challenge that would be awesome (preferably from The Bends or OK Computer).
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I've noticed a dose or two of spiteful atheism on the podcast, right on! I was wondering if any of you are members of the Church of Google?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Describe your experiences with or around Dungeons and Dragons. Everyone has a crazy story whether or not they've actually played.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Question1 – I asked this of the FB's before, but I wanted your opinions also. At the risk of giving up my geek card, I admit never having watched Buffy, Angel, Firefly, or BSG. Assuming I take them on one at a time, what order should I go in? I assume Buffy before Angel, but should Angel get put somewhere in the middle? Something like "Watch Buffy 1-3, then Angel, then Buffy 4-7"
Question 2 – Does Denise actually exist? Because with either Josh or Eli not being there, it seems a little like when you guys interviewed Jesus…..I'm just saying.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
If you guys are truly Cake fans, then I want to hear some Stickshifts and Safetybelts. If that's a smidge too esoteric, I would also accept Sheep Go to Heaven. Fuck it just play anything from Cake.
And you tempt the fates, sirs! You claim that everybody should know that Xander lost an eye, yet how many Fancy Bastards are just now watching Buffy/Angel for the first time thanks to your recommendation? I'm still enjoying the adventures of a fully-sighted Xander myself.
Also I want to see a picture of Josh's baby-hands ASAP. And thats not a gay thing (I think).
And would you call "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" part of geek culture?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
i would like to hear anything from 'jar of flies'. I think that's all i need to say.
also, what do you think of the battlestar comics. Are they worth it? Same goes for Serenity.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I'd like to hear any song from Modest Mouse's "The Moon and Antarctica" album.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Ill go ahead and tell you now that I never listened to MM, so if you want to make another request I've already failed at this one.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Pearl Jam – Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town? Can you fit a name like that on the podcast?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Aww.
In that case how about anything by Live?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Play some Khoa or Standing On Pluto.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Uh, I mean… Skynyrd.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
How excited are the of you about The Dark Knight? because i've been watching the newest trailer every other night. On to the 90's Alt. Rock Challenge:
I know the Pumpkins have been mentioned already, but as a crazy Pumpkinhead, i gotta hear some obscure songs. so here it goes:
Fuck You (an ode to no one)
X.Y.U
Where Boys Fear To Tread
Rhinocerous (that's the easy one i'm giving you)
Frail and Bedazzled
Pastichio Medley (just kidding, that song is like 23 min. long)
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Anything by Primus…
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Play some Spacehog. Hell yeah one hit wonders!
QUEXTIONS:
1. If you could have one Frisky Dingo quote/word as the last word you utter before dying, would it be "Boosh!", "Kakow!", "Jango!" or "Snip-Snap!"?
2. What are your hangover cures?
3. Given the current trend of remaking old TV shows and movies unnecessarily, which show/movie would you have redone (and redone well)?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
This I can do in spades. Feel free to get specific. I probably know 80% of their catalog.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I lost my Khoa tape before I moved. Do you have MP3's of that?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Sweet. I'd say your choice of "White, Discussion", "Shit Towne", or "Waitress".
Oh, and if you're going to be saying our names on air, the "G" in "Gneekman" is silent. Like in "gnat". Or more geekily, "gnome".
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Hmmm, hopefully it's not too late to get in on this action for the podcast. 90's alt rock to me could be many bands, but I think I gotta put up Toad the Wet Sprocket for consideration. I'll make it easy with "All I Want". If you can give me that, I'm yours forever.
As for a question, well, let's see. Heroes has covered heroes, and this season they're doing Villians, but they've not yet covered Sidekicks really. So, if you were to be a character on Sidekicks, what Hero would you team up with and what (somewhat lamer) power would you have?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
is it scary or awesome that I recognized all of the references?
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
sadly too late. We recorded before your question came in. If it helps, I dont actually know any TTWS. I can learn it and play it next time, but you have to remind me.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
so there's gonna be a next time.
i was out of the country, Joel! I missed the alt rock challenge! (which, if i may say so myself, I feel i caused)
February 5th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Tool: Hooker with a penis. If that counts.
