Anyway, on the topic of selling out, fuck all these asswads who criticize artists for selling out. It’s easy to be that way when you have a steady job, not so much when you’re one of the artists in question. Often, actors go long stretches without work and bands fall in and out of fashion. There are those who decide not to compromise their artistic works, and those who have bills to pay and live in the real world.

Is a guy in a band a bigger sell-out if he works at The Gap to pay the bills or signs with a major label? At least being flexible with your artistic integrity allows you to make a living doing what you love.

Sometimes, people are lucky enough to do what they love for good pay without making any compromises, but most aren’t. If an actor has to take a few shitty roles to both pay his mortgage and get some breathing room to find a role he loves, calling him a sell-out is ridiculous. He’s no more a sell-out you any of us were when we worked a shitty job while looking for our dream job.

Ugh. That wasn’t as funny as I hoped it would be. At least I tried, I guess.

You gotta love the 80’s.

Ergo (hehe, I’ve always wanted to use that word), their roles next to the eponymous CG Chipmunks are an homage to arguably, the guiltiest of guilty pleasures from the 80s (for us who were young’uns back then, anyway).
